The class toolkit
Named progression abilities are part of the class pool. Level gates are not extra ability slots. Selected-path, resource, and activation requirements still apply.
| Level | Ability | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Raise Skeleton; Lingering Curse | Summon a basic skeleton or apply damage over time through a curse. |
| 4 | Essence Harvest | Collect Death Essence from eligible dead entities. |
| 5 | Deathly Discipline | Develop the selected horde, plague or reaping technique. |
| 6 | Raise Mage | Spend resources to summon an advanced undead caster. |
| 8 | Raise Abomination | Commit resources to an elite undead servant. |
| 9 | Master of the Dead | Passively improve control and power of commanded undead. |
| 10 | Lich Form / Army of the Dead | Choose an ultimate undead transformation or a mass-summoning release. |
In the story and on the track
Necromancers use Mana and Death Essence for undead minions, diseases, curses, and draining effects. Minion control and sustained pressure define their approach. A Necromancer's entourage gives them away. Hordemasters cultivate the spectacle of a following that refuses to stay buried, while Plaguebearers leave opponents watching every lingering curse. Reapers bring the unsettling closeness of a drain into the exchange itself. Players give their undead arrangements names and routines, but the class demands attention beneath the theater: pressure, minions, and Death Essence all need tending while the fight keeps moving.
Resource rhythm
Mana supports spellcasting. Death Essence fuels powerful summons and spells.
Specialization paths
Hordemaster — numerous minions (Charisma); Plaguebearer — diseases and curses (Intelligence); Reaper — life-draining melee/caster hybrid (Dexterity).
How it fits a build
Class and Spec each occupy one of the four core ability slots. Six stat slots complete the ten-ability layout. Class progression abilities are slot-free and level-gated; selecting a path does not automatically grant every alternative path. Costs, targets, timing, and access requirements still apply.
Keep exploring.
