The class toolkit
Named progression abilities are part of the class pool. Level gates are not extra ability slots. Selected-path, resource, and activation requirements still apply.
| Level | Ability | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Reach Advantage | Strike from the polearm's effective reach and build pressure. |
| 4 | Set the Charge | Prepare a charge by establishing direction and building Momentum. |
| 5 | Lancer's Discipline | Shape a polearm technique around the selected specialization. |
| 6 | Piercing Charge | Commit Momentum to a driving polearm charge. |
| 8 | Chargecraft | Modify an established charge for the tactical situation. |
| 9 | Master Lancer | Passively improve practiced lance technique. |
| 10 | Legendary Charge | Spend the setup on a decisive ultimate charge. |
In the story and on the track
Lancers use polearm reach and movement to build Momentum for charges. Their paths support thrown weapons, defensive formations, or magic through a lance. Lancers spend the approach measuring the moment of contact. Their players learn the feel of a lane opening, a formation turning, or a rival stepping just inside reach. A Javelineer carries that judgment into the throw, a Spearman makes it part of a defensive line, and a Spell Jouster adds a flash of magic to the impact. The dramatic charge starts well before the audience notices the lowered point.
Resource rhythm
Movement and attacks build Momentum. Lancers spend it on charges.
Specialization paths
Javelineer — thrown ranged damage (Agility); Spearman — defensive formations (Stamina); Spell Jouster — magic through a lance (Intelligence).
How it fits a build
Class and Spec each occupy one of the four core ability slots. Six stat slots complete the ten-ability layout. Class progression abilities are slot-free and level-gated; selecting a path does not automatically grant every alternative path. Costs, targets, timing, and access requirements still apply.
Keep exploring.
