The class toolkit
Named progression abilities are part of the class pool. Level gates are not extra ability slots. Selected-path, resource, and activation requirements still apply.
| Level | Ability | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Opening Gag | Disorient a rival with a small prank and build Mirth from success. |
| 4 | Pocket Full of Tricks | Manage charges for a prepared set of tricks. |
| 5 | Copycat | Borrow an eligible observed ability through the Jester's mimicry mechanic. |
| 6 | Punchline | Commit a prepared gag to meaningful crowd control. |
| 8 | Showstopper's Specialty | Use an advanced move from the selected Juggler, Mime or Rodeo Clown path. |
| 9 | Master of Merriment | Passively strengthen the tricks that keep the performance moving. |
| 10 | Grand Performance | Release a coordinated sequence of tricks for the ultimate chaotic spectacle. |
In the story and on the track
Jesters use Mirth and Tricks for projectiles, copying, and evasive defense. Their White-slot identity supports an adaptable play style. Jester players understand the tactical value of being underestimated. The Juggler's bright arc draws the eye, the Mime's imitation invites recognition a heartbeat too late, and the Rodeo Clown makes a dangerous pursuit look ridiculous. Teams develop private jokes around successful escapes and spectacularly mistimed pranks. Under the comedy sits careful attention: who is watching, who is irritated, and who can be persuaded to chase the wrong performer.
Resource rhythm
Mirth powers the Jester's effects, while Tricks supply utility. Use the generation and spending rules for your game mode.
Specialization paths
Juggler — dangerous projectile juggling (Intelligence); Mime — enemy kit copying (Charisma); Rodeo Clown — barrel-based evasion tank (Stamina).
How it fits a build
Class and Spec each occupy one of the four core ability slots. Six stat slots complete the ten-ability layout. Class progression abilities are slot-free and level-gated; selecting a path does not automatically grant every alternative path. Costs, targets, timing, and access requirements still apply.
Keep exploring.
