The class toolkit
Named progression abilities are part of the class pool. Level gates are not extra ability slots. Selected-path, resource, and activation requirements still apply.
| Level | Ability | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Quick Juke | Feint past a threat and build Momentum when the dodge succeeds. |
| 4 | Team Player; Follow Through | Assist an ally's play, then carry the opening into a follow-up maneuver. |
| 5 | Showboat; Power Slide | Win audience attention with a risky flourish or slide around a contested corner. |
| 6 | Breakthrough; Playmaker | Break a defended lane or set an ally up to exploit the opening. |
| 8 | Second Wind; Zone Control | Spend Momentum to regain athletic pace or contest an area with practiced positioning. |
| 9 | Crowd Pleaser | Spend 30 Momentum after a completed highlight to grant nearby allies a 10% performance bonus for 6 seconds; 30-second cooldown. Maximum raises the bonus to 13%. |
| 10 | MVP Mode | Spend 40 Momentum for 8 seconds of 20% athletic enhancement; 60-second cooldown. Maximum raises the bonus to 26%. |
In the story and on the track
All-Stars use athletic movement, crowd response, and coordinated plays. Momentum rises through successful actions and falls when movement or performance breaks down. An All-Star turns the arena into a home game. Players recognize the swagger before they recognize the jersey: the last-second juke, the pass threaded through a collapsing defense, the grin flashed toward the stands. Commentators work that audience until its enthusiasm fuels the team's performance-boosting effects. Runners make pursuit look embarrassing; Sportsballers make a single Ball feel like an entire equipment locker. The best All-Stars leave teammates looking like stars too.
Resource rhythm
Momentum grows through hits, dodges, assists, and sustained speed. Stuns, roots, failed checks, inactivity, and knockdowns reduce it. It also decays over time. Momentum thresholds open abilities and improve their effects.
Specialization paths
Commentator — crowd-fueled support (Charisma); Runner — evasive endurance tank (Stamina); Sportsballer — morphing Ball offense (Strength).
How it fits a build
Class and Spec each occupy one of the four core ability slots. Six stat slots complete the ten-ability layout. Class progression abilities are slot-free and level-gated; selecting a path does not automatically grant every alternative path. Costs, targets, timing, and access requirements still apply.
Keep exploring.
