The class toolkit
Named progression abilities are part of the class pool. Level gates are not extra ability slots. Selected-path, resource, and activation requirements still apply.
| Level | Ability | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Opening Steps | Begin the first chosen Dance Style and build Flow through its basic steps. |
| 4 | Second Position | Add a second chosen Dance Style to the repertoire. |
| 5 | Resonant Rhythm | Channel a maintained rhythm into an aura when Flow meets its threshold. |
| 6 | Combo Finale | Chain steps into the first finisher and spend built Flow. |
| 8 | Third Movement | Add a third chosen Dance Style and integrate it into the performance. |
| 9 | Rhythm of Battle | Improve style switching so a change of stance supports the next movement. |
| 10 | Dance of the Cosmos | Combine learned styles in an ultimate multi-style performance. |
In the story and on the track
Dancers chain Steps within Dance Styles to build Flow, then spend it on finishers. They can change styles to alter their contribution to a match. Dancers treat a crowded arena as choreography that keeps changing. Players rehearse transitions as carefully as finishers: a light Ballet escape, the planted force of Hip-Hop, the turn that draws a partner into Salsa. Some keep one signature style; others delight in making rivals misread the next Step. Teammates who learn the rhythm can feel when a Dancer is building toward a flourish and leave the space it needs.
Resource rhythm
Steps generate Flow, which finishers spend. Dance Styles change the character's approach to movement, attacks, support, or control.
Dance Styles
Ballet — evasion; Hip-Hop — speed and power; Capoeira — melee and defense; Salsa — partner support; Breakdancing — disruption; Waltz — control.
How it fits a build
Class and Spec each occupy one of the four core ability slots. Six stat slots complete the ten-ability layout. Class progression abilities are slot-free and level-gated; selecting a path does not automatically grant every alternative path. Costs, targets, timing, and access requirements still apply.
Styles are not Specs
These six Dance Styles describe ways to move and perform. The source explicitly says they are not six separate entries in the Spec field.
