El Comal provides heat or cold without an external stove, fuel source or other equipment. Different parts of its surface can work independently.
It can also preserve the temperature of whatever rests on it. Several drinks placed on the same Comal can each remain at their original temperature, whether hot, chilled or somewhere between.
