Original writing prompt

[WP] On a business trip far from home you are shocked to see your husband in the airport. He looks odd: too thin, clothes and luggage unfamiliar. You catch up to him, grab his arm: "Aaron?" He's visible startled: "Norah? How are you here? Is that a wig? Who the hell is Aaron?" Your name isn't Norah.

THE MOMENT

"My name's not Norah, it's Nina," Nina said. The stranger she thought was Aaron also shook his head and smiled.

"Albert," he said and extended his hand. Nina realized what Albert realized one second sooner. She relaxed and shook her head while laughing at herself.

"Wow, they weren't kidding were they?" Nina asked as she shook Albert's hand. She thought back to the flight attendant's presentation. It informed Nina that she was now in an alternate universe and some locals might look familiar.

"You on Sharp Airlines too?" Albert asked. Nina nodded. "You know, I was in the right headspace to meet a different version of me. I didn't expect to meet a different version of my loved ones," Albert chuckled.

"Same," Nina replied. "It's my first flight. It's still hard to believe alternate universes exist at all...it's mind-boggling that my flight has a layover in one."

"I know! The multiverse is really amazing. Good luck to you out there," Albert smiled and turned away with his luggage.

"Thanks, you too," Nina replied. She turned and resumed looking for her gate.
