THE MOMENT
[Sharp Sacrifice] [poem]
"Don't be scared!" It growled.
"I'm on your side!" It added.
It looked like me, with wings.
"Your biggest wish; it's granted."
It peered through the closet door and scowled.
"You're alone. Just you and all the things."
It held up a rectangle of glass and smiled.
"All your wants and needs a touch away.
"Choose your Earth: Civilized or Wild?"
His voice carried sway.
"How did you know? I didn't ask or deal."
It grinned. "On my Earth, I'm you."
"Sold my soul for the perfect deal."
"From Hell, I can help every version of you…”
"...Of me. Ms. Sharp encourages rule-bending."
