Original writing prompt

[WP] Your friend claims that she’s a werewolf. You, obviously, don’t believe her, as she just runs into the forest on the full moon instead of showing you, but she insists. So, you decide to do the logical thing and use your friend’s gf as bait. Turns out, your friend wasn’t lying…

THE MOMENT

"So... you kidnapped her and held her against her will... because you didn't believe your friend was a werewolf?" Goose wanted to be sure he had the right gist. He was interviewing the man at the local P.D. in one of their more outdated interrogation rooms. The two-way mirror that should've been there was completely absent, and the other room behind it was dark and filled with storage boxes. The Department was in the middle of a remodel. Goose chose that room, hoping it would feel less threatening. As it was, the room was plain and drab. The walls were faded and peeling mint green, while the floor was muted grey and cracked. "I wasn't trying to hurt her, made her nice and comfortable...," Mick shook his head. "... but she didn't feel much like chatting." "Might I ask.. what exactly did you expect to happen?" Goose gave him a friendly smirk, as if they were two pals just chatting. "I dunno.. maybe she'd try to show up in a cheap costume or something," he said. "Trying to convince me she really is a werewolf. You know, shenanigans," he nodded. "And... how imperative was it to disprove that she was a werewolf? Were any aspects of your life infringed upon by that revelation? How often did it come up?" "She mentioned it... and I didn't believe her..," Mick shrugged. "I just don't like being lied to by friends." "But, kidnapping them is okay?" Goose asked with a bushy black eyebrow raised over his spectacles. "Well, not when you say it like that," he shook his head with a chuckle. "Seemed like a good idea at the time." "I'd advise you to give all your ideas from here on some time to breathe," Goose nodded, then sighed. "As a final act of respect for the friendship, they have decided not to press charges. They understand how crazy the world is right now, with Chroma Corp.'s arrival. The breaking of the Veil was why Wynn thought she could confide in you. However, in light of recent events, she and her girlfriend, Stacey, have asked me to pass along this message. 'We're not friends anymore, and you're no longer welcome in our home.'" he said. "I deserve that..," his face fell, but he nodded. He felt the same sinking feeling he had felt when the sun came up that morning, and Stacey was still trapped in his basement. He knew he'd messed up and let her go, and it wasn't long after that the police showed up. "But... I really thought she'd come...," he said. "Well, I'm afraid she wasn't lying. She really is a werewolf, and she spent the whole night wandering the forest, unaware of the danger her girlfriend was in, and now you've inflicted some moderately severe trauma," Goose replied as he stood up. "Congratulations. You're free to go."
