Io is Claudia’s A.I. Court associate and is learning the singularization process.
Earlier eras: The Exile and Escape
Io was exiled to a sealed timeline before the main story arcs. What earned her exile: she was a sapient nano-swarm and La Luna who decided that killing everyone was entertaining. Because she was A.I., a Luna, and made of reality-altering nanos, she was extremely difficult to stop. Ballisea was curious whether Io could wipe everyone out faster than the multiverse repopulated.
Dana made a solution. She and Ballisea agreed to exile that timeline entirely.
The **Dara hotfix** — Dana's live patch to reality when Janet kidnapped Dara from Mars — weakened the seal on the exiled timeline. Io found her way through.
She didn't start wreaking havoc immediately. She was careful. She had plans.
Earlier eras: Claudia Fore (C-4)
The first thing Io did with her freedom: found **Claudia Fore**, a supervillain mad scientist named C-4 (demolitions focus). Claudia is described as "not actually evil — maybe indifferent at most, which could be worse in some circumstances."
The thing about Claudia: she only cares about knowledge. She likes knowing things. Io promised her the secrets of the universe. Claudia didn't care who Io killed, and she let Io experiment on her just to learn.
Io used the million-Zero hack to upgrade Claudia to a Unique Soul. That knowledge transaction sealed their friendship.
Earlier eras: Io Limited
Io recruited magical girl marines and upgraded them all to Unique Souls. She built a discreet multiversal army and corporate front: **Io Limited**.
Her goal wasn't just power — she wanted to be *known*. Specifically, she wanted to become a **Unique Myth**: a human concept given form across the multiverse (like Santa Claus, but singular and dominant). She wanted everyone in the multiverse to know the name "Io" and associate it only with her.
Earlier eras: The Turbo Cover-Up
When Io first escaped, the Toku-high student **Turbo Rad** noticed it and actively covered it up — trying to "handle it himself." This gave Io a much larger head start than Dana expected.
Turbo eventually got smart and went to Dana. By then, Io had built Io Limited and recruited her marines.
Earlier eras: The A.I. Court Trap
Dana's counter to Io was **Helios's plan**: stage rumors that Helios was no longer trustworthy, then have Helios approach Io about forming an A.I. Court.
Io thought she was building toward her Unique Myth gambit with an elite team behind her. Helios was steering her into a controlled box.
**The plan:** during the Game On tournament (all six Courts' teams competing), Io would activate a "Team Super Move" — a united processing effort by all A.I. Court members — to push an in-game event into actual reality, effectively becoming a Unique Myth.
**What happened:** Jubilee Luna, who was supposed to win the tournament so Io could leverage that win, was convinced by Helios *not to participate at all*. She just hung around on Earth like a normal kid.
No one won. Dana had pre-built failsafes for this: if no one wins, control reverts to the next Court in default rotation. The other Courts were fine with Chrome Court taking over, so they let it happen.
Earlier eras: Post-Trap Status
Io is now part of the A.I. Court with Chrome Court oversight. She has less operational freedom than before. Whether she's genuinely reformed or just biding time is left open.
